KOONDROOK BARHAM FOOTBALL NETBALL CLUB

Wow!, what a start to the 2026 CMFNL season, big wins huge losses, but for our club i.e. Koondrook Barham FNC, a good win in front of a massive crowd for our first game which was against former GRFL club in Hay. First up a huge thank you to our fantastic group of volunteers who made sure the huge crowd was catered for, the canteen was in overdrive for most of the day, the bar was kept busy and our officials, i.e. Julie, Paul and Dave made sure everything ran like clockwork.

The A Grade netballers kicked off their premiership defence with a very good win, some of the others grades also had wins however Hay managed to grab some points in the lower grades. In the footy our games against Hay resulted in wins in all grades except our Colts who seemed to be outmuscled really, the Hay boys controlled the first half but at least the Raiders boys fought back in the second half to make the scoreline look a bit more respectable. Awards went to Max Snowdon (May Family Socks), James McDonald (Tudor Tavern), Riley Zielicki ((Don Taylor Pen), Jye Hamilton (Wilma Bott Canteen award) and, Alex Chisholm (Intersport voucher). The Ressy’s got the points in their game, bit of a slow start by the boys but they eventually got their act together to record an easy win. Awards went to Ryan Manning (Wes Hare Scooby of the day award), Warren Lolicato (Matsey’s Hotel), Nathaniel Leonard (Tudor Yavern), and Kayde Watts (Intersport). The Seniors hit the field with a new look side and with a lot of expectation, mainly from the supporters I think, but it was good to see the team gel together so early and record a very hard fought win against a pretty good Hay side who will more than likely win more games than they lose!. Awards went to Cam Arnold, (Counterpoint “Man of the Day”), how good is it have Cam back. Cam Anderson (Barham Newsagency), Reagan Hamilton (Tudor Tavern), and Harry Bremner (Raiders towel). Others to impress were Riley Paterson and Ryan Bartlett in a pretty good team effort.

This Saturday we venture to new territory i.e. Wandella, to play them for the first time ever, if you have never been to their footy ground before just ask someone and I’m sure they will put you on the right track!. The Cocktail night was a resounding success with everyone enjoying themselves and actually behaving themselves!.
